Classification And Types Of Strength Grades For Stainless Steel Bolts
Dec 22, 2023
Stainless steel bolts are one of the common fixing materials in decoration projects, with a large amount of usage and a wide range of applications. Therefore, people preparing for decoration need to have a deep understanding of it. Next, let's learn about the classification and types of strength grades for stainless steel bolts.
1, Strength grade of stainless steel bolts
What is a stainless steel bolt?
Stainless steel bolts are a type of bolt with very high resistance. It can resist the corrosion of acid, alkali, and salt. Due to their different compositions, stainless steel bolts also exhibit different resistance characteristics, some of which can resist rust but cannot resist acid erosion. The stainless steel bolts we commonly use in daily life mainly come from austenitic stainless steel, which is divided into austenitic 304, 316 and other models.
2. Classification of strength levels
① The common strength grade of stainless steel bolts is 8.8, which refers to their tensile strength of 800MPa and yield strength of 640MPa.
② The strength grade of stainless steel bolts is generally divided into 10 grades, ranging from 3.6 to 12.9. The left side of the decimal point represents the strength limit of the material, while the right side of the decimal point represents the ratio of yield limit to tensile limit.
③ Nuts also come in different grades, divided into 7 grades, ranging from 4 to 12. The larger the number, the greater the minimum stress that the nut can withstand.
④ According to the bolt texture, the external thread is divided into 1A, 2A, and 3A, and the internal thread is divided into 1B, 2B, and 3B. As the number increases, the grade also increases. At the same time, the tighter the cooperation.
⑤ Thread grades are divided into external threads and internal threads, with external threads divided into 4H, 6H, and 6G, and internal threads divided into 5H, 6H, and 7H. The best thread fitting method is h/g, h/h, or g/h, which can make the bolt more secure.
2, Types of stainless steel bolts
There are many types of stainless steel bolts, which can be divided into dozens, and each specification has a different purpose. For example, external hexagonal bolts, internal hexagonal pointed set screws, half round head internal hexagonal screws, cross groove large flat head self tapping screws, hexagonal nuts, butterfly nuts, and so on.
During the decoration process, selecting stainless steel bolts that are suitable for your needs and using them according to their strength level and type can improve the quality of the project to a certain extent and ensure the firmness and reliability of the decoration effect.
